DANCE DIVISION WINS THE TWO TOP AWARDS

NEW WORLD SCHOOL OF THE ARTS COLLEGE DANCE DIVISION WINS THE TWO TOP AWARDS AT THE NEW PRAGUE DANCE FESTIVAL IN THE CZECH REPUBLIC.
David Pospisil, general director of the New Prague Dance Festival, presents Dean Lewis with the "Grand Prix" - the top honor at the Festival - for the New World Dance Ensemble

At the final performance of the New Prague Dance Festive 2010, the New World School of the Arts got a standing ovation for the third time in a row. After the performance, awards were announced for best choreography, best dancers in many styles and two grand prizes.

The final two grand prizes were won by the New World School of the Arts College Dance Division. The first was a special award not juried by the international panel of judges, but awarded by the director of the festival for a company that moved him with their talent, professionalism, and ability to move audiences. The second and final - juried - award was the GRISHKO INTERNATIONAL AWARD:  the top prize given by the partner of the New Prague dance festival. We will be sending home the two Bohemian crystal awards, and the 1,000.00 Euros prize money!

The New World Dance Ensemble is very proud to be the winner of these two prestigious awards.

Our First Few Days

We are visiting museums & castles, meeting dancers from all over the world. Rehearsals started in the hotel meeting room for two days, then at the theater for spacing rehearsals and lighting. Below are some photos of rehearsals and sightseeing trips. The culture and beauty of this city is wonderful. We will not be able to send pictures of rehearsals or performances in the theater as photography is not allowed in the theater.
